Radiology has numerous uses in breast healthcare. It's used to assess breast tissue and check for any abnormalities that may indicate cancer, to locate and mark abnormal tissue for treatment, and to assist in taking tissue samples for biopsy.

The Breast Center
The Breast Center is a unique service designed to provide personal consultation and rapid diagnostic services for people who have breast changes or problems ranging from benign breast conditions to breast cancer. To assist Dr. Jessica Ruhland and Dr. Andrew Wilder in providing complete breast care to patients, we employ a Nurse Navigator who acts as a liaison for breast patients; providing test results, appointment scheduling assistance, patient education, community resource information and referrals to other healthcare providers including the multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic.

The Breast Center offers the following diagnostic services:
  • Breast biopsies (MRI, stereotactic, ultrasound-guided)
  • Breast MRI
  • Breast wire localizations
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Mammography, including 3D (screening and diagnostic)
For more information about The Breast Center, call the Nurse Navigator at (701) 530-6099 or 1-800-472-2113 ext. 6099. To schedule an appointment for a mammogram, call (701) 530-6001 or 1-855-530-6001.

Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic
The multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic offers a new approach to breast cancer treatment. Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women, but when it happens, it is an unexpected and often overwhelming event. That's why the doctors you know and trust at Mid Dakota Clinic and CHI St. Alexius Health have come together with experts from the Bismarck Cancer Center to offer patients the region's first multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic. In just one appointment, the multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic brings together a team of general surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and a plastic surgeon who collaboratively render a comprehensive opinion on the best course of treatment for breast cancer patients. This means a reduction of inconvenience and anxiety for patients and their families.

For more information about the multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic, call the Bismarck Cancer Center at (701) 222-6100 or 1-800-248-5511.
