Stop suffering. Start talking.
Gynecologic issues can have a big effect on a woman’s life. Women may not want to talk about their symptoms, either out of reluctance to discuss something so personal, or out of a belief that nothing can be done. But you may be surprised to learn that you’re not alone. Other women have similar problems, and treatment is available. The first step is to talk about it. Gynecologic health is an important factor in your overall health, and our OB/GYNs are here to help.

Talk to your OB/GYN about any issues or symptoms you may be experiencing, such as: In discussing your symptoms, provide as much information as possible. When did you first notice the symptoms? Did they come on gradually or suddenly? Did they coincide with any changes in your lifestyle? How frequently do they occur? How does the problem affect your life? Also note if the symptoms tend to occur at a specific time in your menstrual cycle.

After we’ve discussed your symptoms, we’ll look for the underlying cause. Some causes of gynecologic problems include:
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Stretched or weakened muscles in the pelvic floor
  • Hormonal imbalances
Treatment options can range from exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor to medications to surgical solutions. Most gynecologic surgeries are minimally invasive and many can be performed on an outpatient basis or even in-office. Surgeries with no incisions or fewer, smaller incisions have brief recovery times to let you get back to your life quickly.

Don’t wait, and don’t suffer in silence. If you’re experiencing symptoms, come in and talk to us. Treatment is available, and we’re here to discuss your options and help you choose the treatment that’s best for you.

The sooner we talk, the sooner you can get the treatment you need to reclaim your health and your life.
