Neurology deals with disorders of the nervous system. The nervous system has two main divisions: the central nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system, which includes other neural elements that act as sensory receptors, such as the eyes, ears, and skin.

Conditions treated by neurologists include cardiovascular events such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, and degenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.
