Bleeding disorders include a group of conditions of the blood clotting system in which bleeding is prolonged and excessive. Some people inherit the tendency, while other causes include a vitamin K deficiency, liver disease, the use of antibiotics or other drugs or a decreased number of platelets in the blood.
