Anemia is the most common blood disorder in the United States. The condition happens when there aren't enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to the tissues, causing tiredness. The causes include iron or vitamin deficiency, blood loss, chronic illness or it can be a side effect of medication. It may be temporary or long term.
