The kidneys are involved in fluid balance and blood filtration in the body. Complications involved with the kidneys include kidney stones, acute renal failure, and end-stage renal disease.

The presence of kidney stones is a widespread health problem in our population. It happens most frequently between the ages of 30 and 50 and predominately in males. There are many types of kidney stones, the most common being calcium stones. Dietary recommendations vary based on the type of stone. Meeting with our licensed registered dietitians can help you determine which foods to avoid in order to decrease recurrence of kidney stones.
