Frequently Asked Questions

What should I look for when choosing a plastic surgeon?
Experience and qualifications are very important. Ask if your surgeon is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Don't be afraid to ask about experience, such as how long the surgeon has been in practice, and their experience in particular with the procedure you are considering.

Another important factor is your relationship with the surgeon and with the staff as well. You should feel comfortable with the staff and establish a relationship of open communication in which you feel respected and supported.

You might also want to ask family and friends who have had similar procedures, or talk to other people you know who are in the medical field. Good surgeons and facilities have good reputations. It's important for you to feel comfortable moving forward with your decision based on sound information. Your attitude, confidence, and communication with your care team will all contribute to the quality of your outcome.
