Like a tummy tuck or an arm lift, this procedure improves the contour of the upper thigh when liposuction is not sufficient or when there is excess skin present. There are several different kinds of thigh lifts, otherwise known as thighplasty. The type depends on the amount and location of the excess skin. In most patients the scar can be located in the fold of the groin where it is well hidden. Other patients with a significant amount of excess skin may require an additional incision down the inside of the thigh. This is placed towards the back of the middle of the thigh where it is hard to see when the patient is standing.

This procedure can make your thighs much firmer and, for some people, it becomes easier to buy clothing because leg fitment is improved. It takes just a couple of weeks to go back to normal activities. The satisfaction rate is high, but it is important to gather as much information as possible on this procedure, including the location and length of scars necessary for your case. It is also important to follow your post-operative instructions very closely for this type of operation.
