Physical Therapy
Treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction, injury or disease

Physical Therapy
Physical therapists are experts in "the science of healing and the art of caring." General Physical Therapy focuses on the treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction, injury or disease. The musculoskeletal system is made up of the muscles, bones and nerves that contribute to human movement.

Some of the common conditions and diagnoses that we treat include, but are not limited to:
• Arthritis
• Back/neck pain
• Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
• Fractures
• Headache
• Joint pain
• Post-Operative rehabilitation
• Sports related injuries
• Sprains/strains
• Trauma/serious injuries (motor vehicle accident, industrial injury)

What will physical therapy include?
• Improving functional capacity
• Improving limitations noted in evaluation (e.g. increasing strength, range of motion, and balance)
• Educating patients on recommended exercise parameters as well as safe physiologic response to exercise and activity

The ultimate goal of physical therapy is to restore maximum function and independence for patients. To achieve this goal, therapies such as heat, cold, exercise, electricity, and massage may be utilized.

Mid Dakota Clinic began offering physical therapy services in 2008.
